We are always interested in every aspect of the world of roses, and it would be our pleasure to answer any question you have about maintaining, showing, growing,
sending, and anything else having to do with roses.
I love HGTV.com and there I recently discovered a recipe for rose water!
Right now you might be asking yourself, what is rose water? I first discovered it in a flavored tea in a Moroccan restaurant, and right away I loved it. The owner showed me the bottle which looked to me like just flavored water.
Besides adding rosewater to your tea, you can use it to flavor baked goods, add it to your homemade potpourri, use it to scent homemade soap, make your own perfume, and use it to scent homemade beauty products.
Here’s how you can make rose water at home:
You want to start with roses that are free of chemicals and pesticides. Pick them early in the morning and wash them gently to remove any dirt, bugs or bug residue.
Carefully separate your rose petals, place them in a pot and pour boiling water over them. A good measure is one part rose petals to two parts water.
Let the liquid cool and then strain out the rose petals.
If you put this liquid into a sterilize jar and refrigerate it, it will keep for as long as a month.
What a lovely way to further enjoy your beautiful roses!
