Save your spot! A chance to discover our paradise just 45 minutes from Cuenca. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about roses, visit a historic hacienda and get some great photos.
The farm exports over 9 million roses a year and most visitors find the production and harvesting process very interesting. With 18 greenhouses of roses you will see all the varieties and receive a deeper understanding of this delicate process.
Departing in a medium-size bus from Plaza del Otorongo at 9 a.m. and returning at 3 p.m.
After arriving at the Farm, you will be served a snack at the Hacienda while the owner of the farm will give a short history of the property and the operation.
Then you are off on the tour through the greenhouses to learn about the complicated growing process where you will see many of the 24 varieties of roses in different stages of growth.
After the greenhouses, the tour stops at the post-harvest operation where the days’ roses are sorted, cut and hand packed into bunches of the same color and length.
You will then follow the roses into the giant coolers where some roses are kept until shipped. It is important to us that all our roses stay at a cool temperature from the time they are cut until they arrive in the custody of the customer. Most of the Farm’s 150 daily workers are in the post-harvest area.
Then, a very interesting stop. Ecuador Direct Roses is a world leader in Tinted and Personalized Roses. See how this amazing process works and view the beautiful, multi-colored roses.
Then, you are then invited to the historic Hacienda where you will enjoy a cuisine show made by a professional chef, with ingredients grown at the farm. You’ll also meet wonderful workers and have fun.
And of course, everyone leaves with roses!!!
